It was great to get your e-mail (answered separately). I hope that you will be able to publish some Parkin pictures and information here and that other members of your extended family will log in. --Ted Hewlett

Philip, I didn't get back to your blog right away. It is intersting that the Parkin family seems to be fairly numerous and widespread. What part of England do you live in? I have been to most parts so I have probably been near. You might prefer to give this information in a regular e-mail. I am in the process of e-mailing Patricia. --Hope you have made cotact again. I am much obliged for her finding you. I will contact you by regular e-mail again.
I am a descendant of John Parkin, born in Topsham, Devonshire 2 Aug 1787 married (31 Aug 1809) to Elizabeth Howard born 1786 in Devon. John emigrated with his wife and 4 children, William (9), John (6), Robert (2) and Jane (1) to South Africa in 1820.
There is a lot of info about his lineage in South Africa, but little is known about his family in UK. I came across your site and wondered if it was possible to show if our two family trees were linked and how they are linked.
John's fathers name was apparently William who died in Exeter Devon and his mother was Sarah Humphries.
Just can`t seem to generate any response here, which is a crying shame. I shall keep trying. My father turned 106 this month and is looking good. Grand daughters growing up at speed, only seems like yesterday when they were babies. Grand sons also growing at speed into nice ell mannered young men.
Hello, Philip. Ted here again. I just heard that there is a new book coming out on the history of Bratton Fleming. Once I get the details, I would be glad to pass them on if you do not have the intormation already. I would be glad to renew contact, and share materials on the Parkins and Bratton Fleming. I hope you still have my e-mail address.
My condolences, Philip, on our loss. What a wonderful age to have reached, though! Our daughter-in-law's grandfather passed away recently at the age of 102+ .
I don't think I sent you the information on that book. I need to make more inquiries about it, and shall try to remember to send the information on to you.
Sorry. I see that on my "Hewlett-Parkin Family Website" you already gave the information on the name of your father and said he was the son of Cyrus Parkin.
I had a computer problem and cannot find your e-mail address. I want to send you the contact e-mail address for obtaining that book on Bratton if you are interested, but would like to send it by regular e-mail. Mine is hewlett["at" sign]shaw.ca , so please e-mail me so I have your e-mail address.
We are scheduled to go to England this summer and I am to pick up the book in Bratton then. I have never failed to visit Bratton each time I have been to England!
Hi Ted. It`s been along time since I have used my blog and it`s great to see you here.I am really looking forward to viewing the book on Bratton.I will email you my address. All the best for your visit here in the summer
I tried to contact you, to answer your question about the family Bible, using your regular e-mail address from an e-mail you sent me, but I got a bounce-back. Please send me your new address to hewlett[sign @]shaw.ca .

Philip, I tried to contact you to answer your question about the family Bible, but your regular e-mail address did not work. Then, just today, I saw that you had attempted to post to the Hewlett-Parkin site and the message did not get published because I did not get notification and so could not enable it. I gave Carol what she requested for the Bible: a donation for her to give to a charity I named. So the Bible is back in the possession of a Parkin descendant.
